Sailor Pluto, Sailor Moon, 2005
Christmas Angel Sailor Pluto was made as part of a group. The idea was that we would all make the Angels from this ridiculous artbook illustration, and go skating on Boston Common. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I'd organized cosplay events there before. Unfortunately, on the day, there was a snowstorm and I ended up not venturing out, although a few intrepid Sailor Senshi did.
The dress itself is a simple dress with darted bodice and circle skirt. It's made of fleece and was very cozy. The trim is ostrich boa, which I mostly stitched on the bus on the way to and from work. It would have been cute for skating, no lie. I taped the additional trim onto my good boots so I wouldn't have to ruin them by sewing stuff to them. It's surprisingly difficult to get a good shape on one of those stocking caps.
