Robin Sena, Witch Hunter Robin, 2006

So I would never, ever have done this costume if my friends Rosiel and Ali hadn't harangued me into it. I really EXTRA don't know why I did it because Ali is the best Robin evar, and succeeds at gazing soulfully into Rosiel's eyes where I fail because it just cracks me up. You can probably see I wasn't that into it, and in fact I only wore this costume for this one photoshoot, where there was way too much giggling. See how the pictures of the two of us here, we're not really looking at each other? That is why. Cosplay is SERIOUS BUSINESS YO.

At least it was easy. I used a lightweight wool for most of it, and I figure if I can get it together to make a matching Eton jacket with the leftover fabric, the grey walking skirt can be a good foundation for Victorian/steampunk. For the jumper, I dissected my old Viking apron dress and used that for a pattern. Who ever thought THAT would come in handy again? The wig wasn't as hard as it looks. There's no actual hair under those ribbons; it's plastic supports wrapped in paper towels and rubber bands.
